New student ID cards are being deployed at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, New Hampshire. The new ID system allows students to use their IDs in the school’s cafeteria to purchase food. They can also be used in the school’s vending machines.

The new student IDs are linked to online accounts where parents and students can load money on the cards to buy food. After the resounding success of the new ID program, the school is looking to expand the system even further. The ID cards offer the potential to be integrated with many of the school’s other programs. A Web Purchase component is in development so that parents can purchase meal plans for their students online. The school is also looking to develop uses for the cards beyond the cafeteria. The student IDs might also be able to be used in the school’s library and bookstore.
