Instead of having to carry around the requisite coins and loose bills for their afternoon sugar or caffiene fix, Thai employees will have an "electronic purse" in their employee ID. By simply flashing it in front of one of six specially-enabled vending machines, they can choose a produt and have it charged to an account that is stored on their company's server. This transaction is secure - no need to worry about losing their entire paycheck over a Snickers.

This payment program has been tested out in two convenience stores with great success, so officials, employees and vending machine owners alike hope that the Thai RFID employee ID cards will take off.
